Discount Printing – Bulk Vs Sales

[ad_1]

If you are looking for discount printing, then there are two main ways to find it: shopping sales and buying in bulk. But just which way allows you to get the highest discount?

The answer is that it depends on the scenario and what your printing needs are. Here is a look at when each type of discount printing would be best for you.

Bulk for discount printing

You can get printing on bulk items depending on how many units you purchase. For instance, you may find that to order 100 brochures, the cost per brochure is two dollars, but if you order 500 brochures, your cost drops down to just $1.50 each. The more you buy, the less you have to spend per unit.

This type of printing works best when you are planning to buy a large amount, or when the next pricing tier is near the amount that you would have purchased. In the above example, if the brochures cost $2 each for any amount less than 500, but $1.50 each for any amount equal to or over 500, if you need to buy more than 375, you should order the flat 500, as it is equal to getting those extra brochures for free. However, if you only needed 200 brochures, then it is cheaper to just order the 200 and pay the $2 per unit rate.

Keep in mind that buying in bulk is only printing if you are actually going to use the item. If you purchase 500 brochures and end up only giving 100 away, you will actually have lost money instead of saving it with the discount printing rates. Therefore, this type of printing works well for items that you use frequently – business cards, sales sheets, etc.

Sales for discount printing

You can also get printing by shopping for sales at your printer or various printers. If you are able to plan ahead when you will need a printed item, then you can save a lot of money by simply waiting for that item to go on sale.

This type of printing will work best for those items that do not have an expiration date. For instance, if you are looking to have postcards printed for an upcoming sale, you may not have time to wait for a discount printing sale price to come up. If you do, then you could miss the mailing deadline and your customers will not receive the announcement in time. However, if you know that your company always sends out holiday postcards in December, then pre-ordering these in July could allow you to save money through discount printing.

Again, it is important to remember that discount printing will only be at a discount if it is an item that you are going to use. It does not make financial sense to place a discount printing order simply because the item is on sale. If the printed item will go unused, then you will actually end up losing money on the printing.
