TGIF is not just an expression for workers who are super happy that the weekend has arrived, it is also relevant to the millions of movie aficionados who love going to see new releases on Fridays- the day when most new releases hit the theaters. Each dedicated movie-goer has had the experience of waiting eagerly in anticipation for a sequel of their favorite movie to come out. However, not every Friday can be this interesting. After that, many great films come out each month and there is never a shortage of things to see. Here is the list of three current movies you should go see in the movie theater.

1. Deadpool 2

The first installment of this series hit the theaters in 2016 and was an instant hit with movie critics, comic book fans, and regular movie goers alike. With a huge buzz build up, Deadpool 2 takes Ryan Reynolds' character and gives him a newer and more magnanimous mission- to save a mutant orphan child from a genetically modified super soldier from the future named Cable and played by Josh Brolin. Upon their first face to face meeting, Deadpool soon discovers that Cable is a much more powerful enemy villain than he could ever have anticipated. Thoroughly devoted to his mission however, he decides to put his own super hero team together from a motley crew of strange and eclectic mutants he finds with want ads. The team creates a hilarious counterpoint to Cable's seriously evil motivations as an action packed riot soon ensues.

2. Avengers: Infinity War

The first Marvel movie that ties into this film came out all the way back in 2008 with the release of Iron Man. This kicked off a decade of comic book based movies that continued to introduce new and interesting mutants and superheroes while simultaneously fleshing out the ever expanding Marvel Universe. Avengers: Infinity War is the careful and grand culination of each and every one of these movies. Tying and twisting nearly every single storyline from previous movies into a braid, this film sets a new standard in canon incorporation. Bringing back about 90% of all the Marvel characters to create a film about an apocalyptic plan to bring about the cleansing of half of the Universe was no easy feat. If filming this grand film was laborious, the preparation as a viewer was so as well. However, the effort is well worth it as the film shows Thanos (also played by Josh Brolin) trying to collect all the infinity stones in his gauntlet so he can have the power to "restore order" to the Universe, actually killing half of all its inmates. With such a powerful adverse it takes the collective of all the superheroes combined to even stand a chance.

3. RBG

The third new release deviates substantively from the prior two in content. The title RBG denotes the initials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the now 85 year-old second female to be confirmed to the Supreme Court. The movie details the story of her life and highlights the many achievements she made both personally and for the women's rights movement as it relates to the laws of the United States. While not seemingly as exciting as a comic book based movie, the social context of the #metoo movement and #timesup, have propelled the sentiments that RBG pioneered to new levels of relevancy. This movie acts as a perfect exclamation point for these historical times.

Check out any of these movies for a stimulating mind adventure.
