How Conversational Hypnosis Works

Conversational Hypnosis is a model based on Neuro-Linguistic
Programming (NLP) a combination of language, communication and personal
change. Conversational Hypnosis is the process of putting your subject in a
trance state characterized by extreme suggestibility, relaxation and
heightened imagination. It's not really like sleep, because the subject is
alert the whole time. It is most often compared to daydreaming, or the
feeling of "losing yourself" in a book or movie. Fully conscious, but you
tune out most of the stimuli around you. You focus intentionally on the subject
at hand, to the near exclusion of any other thought.

Here are some of the fundamentals you need to understand ..
First of all hypnosis is a special, altered state of awareness in which a
person becomes more suggestible. The ideas that the hypnotist gives that
person bypass normal conscious thinking and influence him / her directly at
the unconscious level.

Well when I talk about the unconscious mind which is also referred to as
unconscious mind or non-conscious mind but they are all the same. This part
of the mind stores your emotions, feelings, hopes, dreams, it is the
source of your automatic behaviors from your heartbeat to your habits.

When you crave for chocolates or feel like listening to a particular song
it is an automatic action is not it. Like when you are engrossed in a
particular thoughts your subconscious mind is so consumed that your normal
senses do not participate at without your special will. Like while you are
driving singing that song .. You do not notice the things you are passing
by.

Another commercial instance is when you choose to buy a particular brand
of toothpaste over other without knowing the real difference between them,
that is when your subconscious mind is at play.
The only factor of hypnotizing a person (consider you are actually
hypnotizing the mind) is simple: "Fixed attention and bypassing the
critical factor (rational thinking) "
Once you are able to attain this state in your subject you can start
planting suggestions inside their mind directly. Our mind has it's own
natural defenses varying man to man, we will learn how our defenses are
being put off guard.

Fixate attention (fixed attention) means to concentrate it narrowing down
your awareness to a single point. This can be done in many ways which has
been changing with time and development in this area. Traditionally
hypnotists use lights or finger and rhythmic chanting. Out of the many
methods the simplest one is to engage your subject to some
'non-intelligent' activities. Like rhythmic drumming, rhythmic chanting of
mantra, or engaging them in a boring lecture. The objective is to induce a
kind of hypnotic trance getting all the attention from an open mind and
turning off the intellect. Then the unconscious mind is affected to
bypass the guards.

Hypnosis changes the way we think, hypnosis actually manipulates the way
we think about a particular thing. Like in case of you choosing a particular
toothpaste over the other one is a case of rational thinking.Without
knowing which one is actually better but once your mind accepts that as
reality your instinctive choices are put tot rest. Then comes the part of
planting hypnotic stories, realities, hypnotic language, repetition, the
voice of authority and trance logic.
