Finding Great New Movie Releases Is Easier If You Know This

There are fewer words that make a movie buff happier than ‘new movie releases’. After all, movie buffs understand that watching as many movies as possible isn’t the actual goal, but they are intrigued & guided by the want to have a front-seat to new movies as they are released. Given the “dog eat dog” world of movie reviews either in print or via video, scoring an early viewing lets your voice be heard before anyone else’s. It even makes the guy typing, “First” a little late to the party.

But beyond superficial, social media hijinks, movie buffs tend to really just enjoy watching a good movie. Don’t we all? The key, though, is knowing when new movies will be released. In some cases, we’re aware of certain times of the year when certain movies are all the rage (i.e., the quintessential summer blockbuster), but we usually tend to indirectly fall into news about a movie release date by doing nothing more than watching TV.

Is there anything you can do be on top of nearly all new movie releases? Actually, yes you can, and you needn’t look no further than your good friend, the Internet. As is the case with just about anything in our world today, an online search for movie releases over the course of a year can easily be brought up by just searching for it. However, as can be the case with general web searches, you may find too many choices to sift through. Fortunately, there are a number of specific websites that are tailored specifically to provide information on new movies & trailers. By signing up with these sites (most are free), you essentially have created a line for updates throughout the year on what movies to which you can look forward.

Again, technology seems to drive the way when it comes to the development of mobile device applications (apps) that cater to the movie-loving crowd. Various apps allow for users of different mobile platforms to have access to information on movies that will be coming out, and this information is literally in the palm of your hand. Talk about convenience!

Finally, though, it’s important to understand that before all of the technology we have today, there were two simple tools that allowed those interested in finding out what movies were playing where – the landline phone & the newspaper. For younger readers, these may be a bit “old-school”, but their impact was massive because they gave in-depth access to information you could only know if you were standing in front of the box office. As has been the case with many things, the advent of technology has systematically relegated these ‘ancient’ methods to obsolescence. However, there is a silver lining in that these methods aren’t quite dead yet. Newspapers, while not as powerful a physical entity as they once were, have transitioned to the digital world, as have their movie listings in most cases. When it comes to calling in for movie times, this process can be seen as the foundation for the technology noted earlier. There certainly is no school like the “old-school”.

Being privy to information such as new movie releases is no longer relegated to memorizing a certain ubiquitous phone number to call for showtimes, and it definitely doesn’t involve getting to use the “shake” that made newspapers cooperate. As such, there’s no excuse for missing out on great new movies!
